Quick connect line removal from fuel pump
I've searched and read through as many descriptions as I could find re: removal of the quick connect fuel lines from the fuel pump but still having difficulty. I have a spark plug boot removal tool as suggsted by on DIY I found but still not able to free them and afraid to use too much force. I've read about and tried pulling up from the bottom of the boot? but to no avail. Can anyone give me a detailed description as to how to get these suckers off? Thanks!
PM the dude that did this one:

Got it! Volvo tech confirmed I was on the right track so kept working at it. Pull boot up. Prize under boot toward center (I had best luck with 90 degree needle nose pliers). keep working at it; the lines fit very snuggly.
I had a really frustrating time trying to pop my gas lines off the fuel pump recently. After getting nowhere for longer than I care to admit, I altered a little Stanley pry-bar/nail puller I had, widening out the end with a Dremel tool so it would fit around those steel tubes that rise from the pump. Jam it under the rubber boot and the fittings pry off easily. Of course it's not much for pulling out nails anymore.

I have a 2000 S-70, I would like to know if anyone knows of the official volvo tool that we could get the quick disconnect line off the fuel pump? I saw Tony's make shift tool. How does that fit under the quick disconnect fitting?
Hi all,
This is my first post. Just wanted to chime in with another DIY-esque tool for removing quick-release fuel lines (from the fuel pump, in my instance).
Google brought me here, via this thread, https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...t-stuck-60568/, as essentially the same thing just happened to us (my Dad and I) with my '97 850. One line came off beautifully or as-indicated, while the other one wouldn't budge at all (after trying all of the aforementioned techniques) to the point where we thought it could've been broken.
One of the clamps from my jumper cables was actually an excellent fit, and with a lot of elbow grease (almost felt like too much at first), it finally popped off (and it wasn't not broken).
So yeah, just reiterating that it's a tight fit while also sharing that a jumper cable clamp is a great fit as a "removal tool."
