What did you use to get the cables back on? I have my dad dropping off a couple of clams tomorrow, so I'm going to try those.

U carefully tapped the cables back on. The side one is easy. The bottom one is a pain that is how I broke my seat.

For the kit I either bring the drill bits home and forget the drill or the opposite.

I also have to get a really good drill soon. Mine is getting old!

I'm going to try the clamps and slowly push them back on, and if that doesn't work, I'll lightly tap them. I always get so nervous touching those seats. I found a really good method to get them off, but getting them on makes me cringe. I want to throw on some skateboard bearings to replace the shifter bushings, but I'm going to wait on the short throw until I have stick down a little better. Hopefully I get a little more practice tomorrow when I can actually shift in and out of 1st and 2nd. lol

Will do. After this week once the clutch is seated I'm going to install the MSD coil and the EBC so I can turn up the boost and have some fun.

On my way out right now. I just threw on the new boot and **** I bought even though the other ones are fine. They changed them a little bit and the new boot looks 100x better than the old one.

Also got my volt gauge to work and I rerouted the USB cable for my head unit underneath the center console to under the arm rest since my EBC will be going in the 2nd din.

Will post pics tonight.

Well, couple big issues. First off, my shifting seems to be spotty. When I first start driving it shifts completely fine, but then ten or so minutes into the drive and I can barely, if at all, shift into first or second. I just put a brand new ball seat on there, I can double check to make sure it didn't brake, but it was completely fine when I installed it. Sometimes it's also hard to shift from 5th to reverse, like when I'm just going through the gears, but if I go into 5th, then neutral, then into reverse, it's fine. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or what's going on. Does my clutch need to be bled some more maybe? I don't know, this is pissing me off.

Also, there's really only one way to hook up the alternator,
correct? The red positive lead and then that small spade. My car will not hold a charge. My alternator was fine before the swap and I never had a problem with a draining battery or no start, some slow cold starts, but that's it. Maybe it's just coincidence that it went out, or could there possible be something else that's killing the battery?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to resolve this ASAP so I have a car again.

Make sure that when your key is on that the small spade has 12v to it. That in sense turns on the alternator. If so, start the car and check the output of the bigger positive lead. You should be 13+ volts coming out of it. If all is good then you will need to put a meter inbetween the battery and either the positive or negative cable and check for current draw.
.0X is ok but anything higher like .1 is bad.

Well I'm putting in a new alternator Friday, so that solves that problem. Hopefully with some more driving the shifting gets better. I'm going to bleed the clutch line again to see if that fixes it.

And how much coolant do I have to dump back into this thing before the reservoir stays full? Granted I've only taken it out driven it twice, each time the reservoir needs topping off.

Sounds like you might have an issue with the tranny.(Syncros)
Does the clutch pedal change at all?

How many times did the cooling system burp?

Try bleeding the clutch again. I had an almost brand new, stuffed, supra that I did a full front clip( windshield posts and under the front seats) on and I bled the clutch, and bled the clutch and still had very similar problems. I bled it again really well and everything was perfect.

As far as coolant .. I still watch level and temp like a hawk.

A couple nights ago when I was driving it and it died, and had a shifting issue, I tried pumping the clutch again and it felt like it was got spongy for a little bit, as if there was still an air bubble floating around in there. But like I said, when I first start driving it, it's completely fine, no problems at all. I went and got the car this morning and drove home completely fine.

And what do you mean by burp?

Yeah, I'm going to bleed the clutch again this weekend. I was told that gravity bleeding works the best with these cars, so I will try that and see how it works.

I mean air bubbles getting out by burping.
Usually when you fill from empty it will burp twice.

I put in a new alternator, and it's still not holding a charge. What else will cause the battery to drain like this????

I have 12V at the battery, and 12V at the spade to turn on the alternator. What's my next spot to check? It's a brand new alternator and a brand new battery.
