Here is the plug/harness that distinguishes the two. I hope you prove me wrong but I searched pretty good and had an exposed model (the T-5R) to assist.

But, when I pulled the engine the two engine compartment harnesses were different. The one I have that is not plumbed has a main harness plug that attaches to the back of the drivers headlamp, its big you cant miss it. If you have this big quick release plug chances are you are not plumbed.
Damn, OK, well if I am not plumbed for them then, how do I wired these in, what did you use?

I am trying to find the locations. I went through it with the wifes car. I cannot find the diagram I used for doing her car. When I find it I will post it.
Ok, so I pull the guard that's underneath the steering column and this relay gets swapped out for the headlight relay? Let me know when you find where those two "J" relays go.

Thanks.

So, if I have that plug I am not wired for fogs, supposedly? And from the looks of it, this plug goes right into the back of the headlights?

I'm not seeing that plug, granted this isn't the best angle, but looking at yours that plug protrudes pretty far and should be blocking my view of that line leaving the radiator right there (whatever line that is).

Please ignore the dirty bay, it doesn't look like that anymore.

That plug is just attached to the back of the headlight. That section of the harness pretty much runs the front of the car. My wagon has that plug and did not have fogs pre-wired. The T-5R did not have that plug and was pre-wired.

If your not pre-wired there is no point in trying to use the factory relays. the receptacles will be there but nothing for them to do.

What I used was the factory switch from the T-5R, I cut about 8 inches of the harness out of the car then moved it to my wagon. I did not use the factory relay system, I added a Bosch relay to control it. If you do it this way you will need two wires to go from the inside switch to the engine compartment. One wire tells the relay to turn on and the second wire is a return from the relay to tell the switch that the fogs are on (the switch lights up). In the engine compartment you will need to tap onto a good power source...how convenient the battery is right there. My relay is mounted right next to the battery. My relay trigger source is the headlights so the fogs come on and turn off with the car.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm not seeing that plug that's in your picture. I'll have to check tonight or tomorrow or something. If my car is not prewired for fogs, will it still have the connector for the fog light switch? Or will I just not be able to use it?

I could not find the connector for the switch. I found where it entered the loom in the T-5R then went to the wagon and took out the front speaker, bolster, light switch, blanks, everything in that area and searched the loom...it was not there. So I cut it out of the T-5R and put it in the wagon.

The picture of your engine bay is the wrong angle to see that harness.

I'm going to go home and check to see if it's there. It's driving me crazy. Is there any way to take apart the switch so I can still use it if I don't have the connector?

where did you look for the other connector for the passenger fog. I was told that if you have one side for the plug the other side is there, and it's tucked up somewhere around the washer fluid tank. I don't know what else that clip would be for, I swear it was the same color and size as the ones that came on the fogs.

Just went home and check my car. The plug by the radiator is in fact a fog light plug, I compared them, same plug. I found the plug on the other side as well, up the bumper support. And I have that big plug behind the headlight that boxpin mentioned, so I don't know what that means, but apparently I'm wired for fogs since both connectors are there

This should be a happy occasion then since that was the end goal. I did not have the plugs and the only thing I had to go on was the comparing of a car that had them and one that did not. So the outcome of this is that not all Volvo's are plumbed for Fogs.

Glad you found them Gilber33...now take a picture of the passenger side so I can QUADRUPLE check mine again

I would check again, because if you had that plug going into the dead socket on down by the radiator on the driver side, you should have the passenger one. Just reach up behind the bumper and it's like inside the bumper support or on the fender, somewhere back there. I'll try to reach my camera under my car and grab a picture of it.

I do have the dead plug behind the drivers lamp. That gave me hope that that soon faded away after searching and searching. I had the front of the car off too.

A picture of a specific place would be very helpful.

I took off the blank cover next to the head light switch and there wasn't anything there, no connector on the other side. I also took off the blank on the right side and nothing. I have found both plugs for the fogs, and I followed the driver side fog plug and wire up and it goes into the loom with all of the other head light wires, and there are wires inside the loom from the fog plug.

Boxpin, how did you wire these in and what relay did you get for them? Thanks. I want them the same way yours is, so they turn on with the car, I'll have them on all the time anyways. Oh, and can you turn off the head lights and still have the fogs on? When I eventually do the halo headlights I want to be able to run the angel eyes and fogs only as DRLs.

Did you look from under the dash for the foglight plug by the headlight switch?
The headlight relay is in the relay box under the hood. You have to unscrew the cover to get to it. That is in the fuse panel under the hood. The 3 pink relays are the ones you need to install. The left one is the headlight relay under the hood. The upper left (right side in diagramI is a relay and the right one is a jumper only. On VS there is a post about fixing the jumper so the fogs come on with the parking lights.

Awesome, thanks tech. Yeah, I unscrewed that cover under the steering column and looked and didn't see anything. I'll take another look again. It has to be there, I don't see why they would wire in the fogs and then not run a plug to the dash? It doesn't make sense.

Well, I just had my dad check my wagon to see if that had a plug, and it does have a plug for the fog light switch, so I had him cut it out and he's going to tell me what color the wires are, see if I can find the one in my sedan, it's gotta be in there. If it isn't, I'll just wire them in myself, and see if I can use the harness and fog light switch to make a simple on and off switch.

Wait, I thought you found the plugs in your sedan???? I am confused, you said you found the wires/plugs but then asked how I wired mine. Now your cutting out a plug from the wagon????

OK, so there has been many turns of events in this.

I found both fog light plugs down by the bumper for my fogs. When searching behind the dash for the socket, I found nothing. I asked my dad to search behind the dash in my wagon since it's all ripped apart anyways, he said he found a plug, I asked him if it was yellow, and he said yes. I thought that was it, and since I haven't found anything in mine, I asked him to cut it out so I could use it to try to track the wires or something. Well, he got back to me and said that it seemed kind of big. This is a yellow plug that was in a dead socket behind the dash, plugged up sort of by the big bunch of wires back there. I got home and found the plug, but it's one prong two big on each side, this is the plug, it's yellow just like I was told it was and it's the only plug back there I can find.

Boxpin, I asked you how you wired yours in because I'm still not finding a switch, so therefore, I may be wiring these in myself, and I thought you said you used the switch from the T5-R, as I would still like to use the fog light switch as an on/off switch.
