Default C70 Crank Pulley lightweight

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Volvo...Q5fAccessories

Hey guys, see the link above, a friend of mine with an Opel astra has fitted the same kind of thing to his car and said it increases performance by 7-10 HP, i mean I know its not that much but he is now squeezing as much as he can out of his car so every little bit helps right ?!

im wondering if having this will make any differerence to me. Does this pulley create less resistance resulting in more torque, quicker spooling as it says in the add ?

I'm not sure I have wanted to try one myself.
I had sent one (OEM)to a member in Canada awhile ago and he was going to have a friend make a few and send me one to test but I never heard anything back from him.

the only problem i have with it is that it doesn't say that it's an underdrive pulley. it just says that it's light weight and stock diameter. an underdrive would not make power but free up rotating inertia and slowing down your accessories i.e. P/S, ALT and A/C. an underdrive would also require a smaller belt.

The difference in weight will be atleast 5-10 LBS in the pulley alone.
The stock pulley is very heavy.

I had the Unorthodox Racing light weight pulley installed a month ago, seems like the engine revs alittle easier/no other noticeable performance differences so far. The stock pulley is about 9lbs very heavy compared to the UR pulley 1lb. Personally i would recommend it after getting stage 0 completed,as i did. I think it would be more noticeable after ecu upgrade.

The reason MFG's use a heavy pulley is to smooth out vibration.
