clutch safety switch location
I bought a 2006 s40 2.4i 5 speed and when I bought it the cruise didn't work, this morning on accident I realized the clutch safety switch is bypassed/malfunctioning to some extent. I've never had a problem starting it and I realized it turns over in gear with out mashing the clutch pedal. my limited experience with automobiles tells me the cruise is routed through the clutch pedal to disengage the throttle if the clutch is mashed while cruise is set. so I think I may have found the cruise problem however I cant find the clutch safety switch. it does not appear to be on the pedal where I have in the past found them on various cars. maybe someone here can point that out to me. cheers

your clutch safety switch is bypassed. if it were broken or malfunctioning it would not start. these "woderful safety" gadgets are a nuisance and will leave you stranded and in need of a tow. the problem is thar t hey just don't die& stay dead, they work intermittently making it very difficult to diagnose. i would like to know how they did it. i have this problem on my 2004 v70
