s4 key fob

Hi all,

new member, 1st blog...
Just bought a 2010 s4 2.0d, only came with 1 key fob unfortunately.
Anyone know the best (cheapest!) way to get a spare??
Apologies if this is an old topic.

The dealer may be the only source to have it programmed. You may be able to purchase a used remote from eBay.

the only way to use a used remote (If It works) is if it comes in the original package with the short and long code on it

Buy a new OEM key with the codes and have a dealer program it to your car. The ebay keys won't work without the OEM codes. Otherwise it would be very easy to program a key and steal your car.

I found an OEM key online for much less than the dealer price. However, VIDA needs a subscription update in order to program the key to the car with my DiCE. My local dealer wants $75 for the service.
