Stuck in drive, gear won’t change
i have a 2012 s60 T5 automatic w/o AWD. Yesterday, I stoped the car and shifted into park, but the car still acts like it’s in drive. The console shows it in drive, as does the LED on the shifter ****. I can’t turn the car off (keyless) because it says it's not in park. The shifter was physically stuck in the park position, but I released the shifter so it moves freely but it still doesn’t register as changing gears. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, but when the power comes back it's still “in drive” even though the car is no longer idling. I even let the battery drain and came back the next day. After a jump, nothing had changed. At this point I can’t even get the car to a shop.
Do I have to replace the whole shifter box? Is there something you could recommend? Thanks!

I just pulled apart the center console and found out that someone else had played in there before. I’ve had the car for a year now, and there’s no record of work in that area on the carfax so it must have been a hobbyist. But, I see that one bolt is missing where the shifter box is anchored to the floor and one of the console attachment screws had fallen down near by.
This makes me skeptical of the whole mess now. Should I just replace the whole box?

I am having the same problem with my 2012 S60 t5 non-AWD. Thanks
