my 2004 xc90 has a smell of fuel by the passenger side rear and the garage has a smell as well. All symptoms of a cracked fuel pump flange. My understanding is the recall is only for certain states.


Question o they crack in the same place and has anyone ever tried to fix the crack with epoxy?

 

i had all mine fixed on recall call your dealer and give them your vin to see if you Qualify..

 

I did call they said the extended warranty of ten years was up in July 2013 based on when my car was put into service. I live in Pa an it was not a recall state only extended warranty. My service guy had me call Volvo directly because nothing was listed on his computer to authorize free repair. The customer care lady suggested my dealer contact their Volvo rep to see if they will authorize repair or discount.

I watched some guy on you tube epoxy his v70 fuel pump flange crack but I am not sure if that's wise

 

Update

As of Thursday 4.17.14 my Volvo service guy states Volvo is going replace the cracked fuel pump at no cost. I have a loner car and should have my car back monday or tuesday. Wow !!! I would have never expected that... I was waiting for a $1200 bill for part and 7 hrs labor.
